Doomdooma boy shines in music world of Mumbai

DOOMDOOMA: Rishabh Borchetia, the youngest son of Hirendra Borchetia and Rekha Borchetia, resident of Rural Siding Tapobon is shining in the music world of Mumbai. A student of ‘Music Production and Composition’ at Whistling Woods International, an institute run by Bollywood director Subhash Ghai, Rishabh also won Lata Mangeshkar Scholarship. He also lent his voice in Subhash Ghai’s directed film ’36 Farm House’ together with Sonu Nigam.

Rishabh completed his primary education from St Mary’s School, Doomdooma and passed the HSLC Examination from Don Bosco High School, Doomdooma. Later although he pursued higher education at Dibrugarh and Guwahati, yet he was bent on studying music in Mumbai to establish himself as a singer. But the poor financial condition stood in the way to fulfill his dream. So prior to going to Mumbai, he also worked in a company in Bengaluru for some time. But, during the Covid-19 induced lockdown, Rishabh returned home and continued his practice of music. During this period he was also selected to study at Whistling Woods International, Mumbai, and received 90% of the required expenses through the Lata Mangeshkar scholarship to study there.

Recently, to generate awareness among the voters of the country, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has produced a song in all the major languages of the country which has been sung by famous singers of the country. Rishabh also got an opportunity to lent his voice in the song for which he was honoured by the ECI with a letter of appreciation. In a special event organized in Mumbai, Subhash Ghai and music director and singer Himesh Reshammiya presented the letter of appreciation of the ECI to Rishabh.
