DOOMDOOMA: The mid-term general council meeting of Doomdooma Press Club (DPC) for the session 2022-2024 was held on Monday with hoisting of the flag by president Anuj Kalita while the DPC secretary Monoj Baruah initiated the Smriti Tarpan programme at its premises. The general council meeting that was held at Bir Raghav Moran Government Model (BRMGM) College, Doomdooma with Anuj Kalita in the chair. In the beginning of the meeting, the death of eminent educationist, former Vice-chancellor, Dibrugarh University, journalist Paban Dutta and others was condoled. The principal of BRMGM College, Doomdooma Dr. Amorjit Saikia delivered the welcome address.
Inaugurating the meeting, the general secretary of Tinsukia District Journalists Association (TDJA) Ranajyoti Neog dwelt on the problems faced by the journalists and urged all to fight unitedly for their legitimate rights.
In the meeting DPC secretary Monoj Baruah presented his annual secretarial report while DPC treasurer Pittar Chand Mittal presented the audited financial report in the meeting and both the reports were passed unanimously by the house.
