DULIAJAN: The premises of Delhi Public School, Duliajan wore a festive look and reverberated with the sounds of 'dhol', 'pepa' and 'husori' amidst a mesmerizing Bihu performance by the students on Monday. The program, the hallmark of which was the teachers attending in complete traditional attire, commenced with the recitation from the holy Namghosa. The entire school comprising of the tiny tots to the class XII students along with the teachers regaled in the wonderful bihu dance presented by the students.
May Day or International Workers’ Day was also observed in tandem with the Rongali Bihu function in the DPS Duliajan premises wherein the teachers and students expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the supporting staff members of the institution for their invaluable service.
Thereafter, a highly informative and productive lecture cum interactive session on developing and nurturing scientific temper and environmental consciousness among children was held in the school auditorium. The eminent scientist and Chairperson of Assam Pollution Control Board and Assam Science Society, Dr. Arup Kumar Misra addressed the students and teachers on wide ranging issues related to science and technology, environmental protection and sustainable development goals or SDGs. Dr. Misra answered several queries from students on varied issues and motivated the young minds to develop scientific temper.
