HAFLONG: The Joint Director, Dima Hasao Health Services, Dr Dipali Barman expressed concern over people's negligence and informed that at least eight persons tested positive on Friday, out of which six were detected under the Assam Targeted Surveillance Program (ATSP) for frontline warriors and other high-risk services such as transport, petrol pumps and markets.

Dr Barman said that earlier all the patients who tested positive were from various quarantine centres but this time five police personnel from Manderdisa outpost and a relative of a Diyungbra medical staff who runs a shop at Block Bazar, tested positive which indicated the possibility of community transmission. All the six positive patients were sent to Haflong Civil Hospital and the probable contacts of the police personnel were advised to remain in isolation. She further said that the people of Dima Hasao should maintain social distancing and wash hand frequently. The total number of positive cases in Dima Hasao is 128.
