Guwahati: Assam Cabinet Minister and North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convenor, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma addressed a public rally at Suklai Serfang of Baksa district. The Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) elections are scheduled on December 7 and December 12.

The grand election rally attracted a massive crowd. The rally was attended by the BJP national general secretary Dilip Saikia, Assam minister Bhabesh Kalita, former Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary, Lok Sabha MP Pallab Lochan Das, and other top leaders of BJP.

Sarma was overwhelmed by the support of the mass. "Your confidence in us shall not go in vain," said Sarma.

Taking to Twitter, Sarma thanked Suklai Serfang and its people. He wrote:

"Thank you Suklai Serfang for your thunderous assertion of support for @BJP4Assam for the #BTC elections. Your confidence in us shall not go in vain. Our commitment to ensure good governance & progress in Bodoland is complete. সকলোকে মৰম যাচিলোঁ #VoteBJP4BTC"

Both BJP and Bodoland People's Front (BPF) are confident and determined to win the upcoming BTC elections. Both the parties formed their alliance in 2016, however, this year they are contesting the elections alone. BJP will contest all the 12 seats of the BTC elections.

The parties have given out their manifestos, helping the general public of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) choose their upcoming leaders wisely.
