Dr Ravi Kanan receives Padma Shri Award at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi

SILCHAR: Dr Ravi Kanan, Director of Cachar Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, who was conferred with Padma Shri Award, received the rarest of honour from President of India, Ram Nath Kovind on Monday at a function at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi. Since his joining at CCHRC as Director, Dr Ravi Kanan has dedicated his life to the treatment of patients, mostly poor and downtrodden. He is being regarded as the messiah of the deprived and neglected for whom treatment of cancer is not only now affordable but also available at door step.

Dr Ravi Kanan has taken CCHRC to a new height of success and achievement. He leads a team of dedicated doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and the entire retinue of all grades of employees with the basic principle of giving top priority to 'service to patients.' Entire Barak Valley is proud of him. Congratulatory messages are pouring in from all corners and even beyond the border of Barak Valley. Most jubilant and ecstatic are the staff of the hospital.
