Draft electoral rolls of the Tezpur & Dhekiajuli Municipal Board published

The draft electoral rolls of the Tezpur and Dhekiajuli Municipal Boards, with January 1, 2020 as the qualifying date, were published on Tuesday.

Tezpur: The draft electoral rolls of the Tezpur and Dhekiajuli Municipal Boards, with January 1, 2020 as the qualifying date, were published on Tuesday. As per the list, there are a total of 47,744 voters of the 19 municipality wards under TMB, out of which 23,679 are males, 24,062 are females and three voters are of the third gender. The number of polling stations is 61.

On the other hand, there are a total of 16,438 voters of 10 municipality wards under Dhekiajuli MB, out of which 8404 are males and 8034 are females. The number of polling stations under DMB is 22.

The draft electoral rolls will be available for viewing at the respective Municipal Board offices and will be subsequently made available for viewing at the DC office and Circle Offices as well. The last date for filing claims and objections is October 3, 2020 (Saturday) and the list(s) of claims and objections filed will be published on October 5 (Monday). The last date for disposal of claims and objections, etc., is October 14, 2020 (Wednesday). The final electoral rolls will be published on October 20, 2020 (Tuesday).

LAKHIMPUR: In pursuance of the notification issued by State Election Commission, Assam, vide no. Sec. 145/2019/133 dated August 31 of the running year, the draft electoral roll with reference to January 1 as the qualifying date for North Lakhimpur Municipal Board was published on Tuesday.

The electoral rolls are available in the office of the Circle Officer, North Lakhimpur Revenue Circle, office of the Chief Executive Officer, North Lakhimpur Municipal Board and in North Lakhimpur Police Station for information.

In connection with the published draft electoral rolls, the claims and objection from public will be received by Magistrate-in charge, North Lakhimpur Municipal Board, Election 2020 from September 22 to October 3 in the office of the municipal board concerned. People can contact the office for this purpose in working hours.
