Guwahati: Based on a secret information regarding possession of illegal weapons, an operation was launched in the area of Choto Rupahi under Sadar PS, Nagaon and recovered one 7.65 mm pistol along with one magazine and 5 (Five) rounds of 7.65 mm live ammunition from the possession of Saidul Islam(35), S/O=Kobil Uddin, Village =Choto Rupahi, PS=Sadar.
The operation was led by Additional SP Security Gunendra Deka and accompanied by John Das DySP DSB, Someswar Kownar, CI (W) Batadrava, SI(P) Surjit Manta and Staff.
It is pertinent to be mentioned that Saidul Islam is an active member of a dreaded dacoity gang.
