Drug peddlers arrested in a joint operation of Assam Police & CRPF in Changlang District

Changlang: In a major breakthrough against drug peddlers in Changlang district, a joint team of civil police and CRPF Bordumsa lead by Insp L. Kamcham, OC PS Bordumsa under the supervision of Mihin Gambo, SP Changlang and Tasi Darang, SDPO Miao conducted a swift and well-coordinated raid in the house of one drug peddler Jaownko Singpho of Kerembisa village under Bordumsa PS in Changlang district on 24/9/19 at around 04:00 PM.

During the raid, the joint team of police and CRPF red-handedly caught the main drug peddler Jaownko Singpho alias Rani, 42 Yrs and recovered 134 grams of suspected brown sugar, an electronic weighing machine, Two numbers of Mobile Handset and cash amount of Rs 85,090/- from the house and arrested the said Lady along with four-person who was also detected taking drugs on the spot namely Bisa Umada Singpho, 30 yrs, Nongbo Wangdu Singpho, 32 yrs, Umadu Singpho 23yrs and Gamthoi Singpho, 31yrs. Accordingly, A case under the relevant section of NDPS Act registered at Bordumsa Police station.

On further interrogation, Arrested lady, Drug peddler stated that she had purchased the drugs from Train Platform at Dimapur, Nagaland from an unknown person.

SP Changlang Mihin Gambo stated that war against illegal drug peddling will continue in the entire Changlang District and all efforts will be done to fight against illegal drugs peddling.
