'Dry Day' declared in Hailakandi on counting day of votes

HAILAKANDI: The district administration has declared dry day in view of counting of votes on Sunday, stated a press release.

An order to this effect issued by Deputy Commissioner Megh Nidhi Dahal stated that dry day would be on till the counting process was over. All IMFL off/on shops and country spirit retail vend licence premises will remain closed throughout the district. Possession of any intoxicant by any person or group is prohibited.

Any violation of the order will be dealt with under relevant sections of the Assam Excise Act and Rules, 2016 and Representation of People Act, 1951.
