NAHARKATIA: Army 9 Raj Rifles battalion lodged an FIR on Sunday at the Duliajan Police Station claiming apprehension of a hardcore over ground ULFA activist on May 9. According to information, the 9 Raj Rifles battalion on Saturday at 10.10 pm conducted the operation and apprehended one suspected ULFA (I) cadre Podum Gogoi (36), son of Bhugram Gogoi of Ghuguloni Ahom Gaon under Khowang. The battalion team apprehended Podum Gogoi near Tingrai under Duliajan PS.

The operation team claimed to recover five detonators and 450 gm class II explosives from the possession of Podum Gogoi. Further complaint stated that Podum Gogoi was involved in anti-national activities. In this regard, a case with 202/20 number under the sections of 5 E.S Act 1908 R/ W Sec 10/13 UAP Act 1908 was registered. Namrup DSP Kula Pradip Bhattacharyya will interrogate the suspected ULFA cadre.
