Durga Puja concludes peacefully at Jamugurihat

JAMUGURIHAT: The celebration of Durga Puja concluded peacefully at Jamugurihat. No reports of incidents from the greater Jamugurihat area were reported till the filing of this report.

A total of hundred idols of Goddess Durga of the greater Jamugurihat area, including Khanamukh, Balipara, Chariduwar, Rangachakuwa, Morisuti, Tupiya, Balijuri, Itakhola, Dhalaibil, Samdhara, Jamugurihat, Kusumtola, Gamiripal, Nagsankar andSamar Dalani were immersed in the Jia Bharali River as per the guidelines issued by Sonitpur district administration.

Notably, people celebrated Durga Puja with all enthusiasm this time after two years of the pandemic. People of all sections came out of their houses to view the idol immersion at Jia Bharali River. Police personnel and CRPF personnel were deployed for a peaceful immersion process. Significantly, almost all the puja pandals were seen crowded with devotees and visitors while the Puja committees maintained coordination with the civil administration.
