LAKHIMPUR: An education fair for career prospects in various professional courses offered by different universities, institutes and business schools was organized for the benefit of students of Lakhimpur district in general and that of Lakhimpur Commerce College in particular on Friday at the college campus.
Organized by the career counselling and placement cell of the college, in association with Impact Media, Guwahati, the edufair was inaugurated by lighting of the traditional lamp by Dr. Lohit Hazarika, Principal of the college and by cutting the red tape by Bhaskarjyoti Borah, ADC, Lakhimpur. In his inaugural speech ADC Borah appreciated the role played by the college in organizing such a education fair for the benefit of students to choose various option of their career.
Fourteen different institutions including colleges and universities from different parts of India offering business management, medical, dental, engineering, law, mass communication from under graduate to post graduate level participated in the edufair.
The entire education fair was conducted by Vaishnav Koch, Director of Impact Media and coordinated Dr. Biva Dutta, coordinator of the Career Counseling and Placement Cell along with Professor Pankaj Lochan Das and Professor Jyotishmita Borah. Apart from the students from Lakhimpur Commerce College, many students from outside the college also participated in the edufair today which remained open till 6 in the evening.
