SIVASAGAR: Dr Nani Gopal Mahanta, Education Advisor, Government of Assam, inaugurated two education-related schemes and projects named 'Vidya-Jyoti' and 'Moitri - Ek Gyan Yatra' of the Education Department in Sivasagar on Wednesday.
The event was presided over by Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav at the Sukafa conference hall and discussed at length how the educational standard of schools and colleges in the district could be improved through both the projects. Kamaljyoti Gogoi, Inspector of Schools, said that efforts would be continued in the Sivasagar district in the coming days through these two projects to improve the educational aspect of the students.
In the meeting, the analysis of the results of the half-yearly examinations, 2022 of the schools of Sivasagar district was also discussed in detail. Education advisor Dr Nani Gopal Mahanta in his speech highlighted the importance of science and commerce education along with art education at present. Mahanta reiterated the need to make students capable of being groomed into the society as a real person in parallel to scoring the highest marks in the examination.
Mahanta also called upon all present to ensure participation and accountability of each and every person in the society in the contemporary education system. Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav also said that the Sivasagar district should be developed to compete with other districts of India in the field of education. The Deputy Commissioner urged the district education department to take all the efforts required for this.
The meeting was attended by principals of colleges of Sivasagar district, principals of higher secondary schools, officers in charge of examination centres of Sivasagar district as well as officials of the education department.
