TANGLA: The citizens of Tangla have heaved a sigh of relief for the efforts of PWD department which has made efforts to repair the potholes and damaged portions of Mangaldai-Bhutiachang State Highway Road with earth filling and sand gravelling ahead of Assam Cabinet Meet in Paneri of Udalguri district on February 27. Days ahead of the Cabinet meet, reliable sources said, the PWD department have entrusted a contractor for the repair work of the road stretch particularly of the road neighbouring Tangla town. If the Cabinet meeting had not been planned, according to residents of Tangla town, the road would have stayed unchanged and there would have been no immediate relief.

“ We are happy that PWD department have waken up from deep slumber with the proposed Cabinet meet and we are hopeful that the Cabinet meet would fetch certain good decisions for the Udalguri district,” said noted citizen, Kamal Chowdhury. “The Tangla-Bhergaon road is lying in a dilapidated condition and needs immediate attention of the government. We hope the PWD department also takes efforts for the repairing of the road.” said Riju Rabha another inhabitant of Tangla town.
