Election Expenditure Observer Arvind Sharma examines details of candidates in Tinsukia

TINSUKIA: The Election Expenditure Observer for Tinsukia Election District, Arvind Sharma, IRAS, examined the expenditure details of the contesting candidates of 122-Tinsukia LAC, 123 Digboi LAC and 125-Doomdooma LAC at the first Election Reconciliation meeting held on Monday at the conference hall of the office of Tinsukia Zilla Parishad, Tinsukia.

The meeting was also attended by Diganta Saikia, District Election Officer (DEO), Tinsukia Election District, Sarangapani Sharma, CEO, Zilla Parishad, Tinsukia, Susanta Kr Dutta, ADC, Tinsukia, Nilurom Sharma, Assistant Commissioner, Tinsukia, Assistant Expenditure Observers and the respective contesting candidates/Election/Expenditure agents of all three LACs of Tinsukia Election District.

He asked the contesting candidates/Election/Expenditure agents of the three LACs to maintain proper account of their election expenditure and submit regular accounts of their election expenditure to him. He also stressed the importance of correct calculation and documentation of the expenditure details by the contesting candidates. A brief scrutiny of the details of expenditure of the contesting candidates was followed after the commencement of the meeting.

The Election Expenditure Observer visited all the three LACs of Tinsukia Election District, namely 122-Tinsukia LAC, 123 Digboi LAC and 125-Doomdooma LAC, and took note of the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct in the LACs and checked the implementation of Static Surveillance Teams, Flying Squad Teams and Video Surveillance Teams stationed in the LACs. In every LAC of the election district, six SST teams, three FST teams and four VST teams have been engaged 24 x 7 for round-the-clock enforcement of MCC in the Election District. He also held a meeting with the State Excise Officials and asked them to increase their activity in the election district and especially monitor the vulnerable pockets of the three LACs.
