He also asked the police to keep strict surveillance on some reported vulnerable points to thwart any design of unauthorized movement from the neighbouring State.

Kokrajhar SP Rakesh Roushan apprised the DGP that he had ensured deployment of CRPF, Assam Police personnel and village defence parties for round-the-clock surveillance. Meanwhile, IGP BTAD, Anurag Agarwala informed the DGP that the Kokrajhar district administration had ensured constant monitoring along the Sonkosh River to prevent any attempt of people sneaking into Assam by swimming across the river. Later, speaking to the reporters, the DGP said that the State government had taken steps to bring back the people of Assam stranded in different places of the country and in respect to that, proper surveillance was going on in the Chagolia and Srirampur gates bordering West Bengal.
