Exams postponed, Assam University, Silchar goes online

In the backdrop of the recent rise in numbers of COVID positive patients, Assam University, Silchar had decided to go for online classes from Monday.

SILCHAR: In the backdrop of the recent rise in numbers of COVID positive patients, Assam University, Silchar had decided to go for online classes from Monday. The online mode of teaching would continue till January 26. Even all the examinations during this period would remain postponed. However, online examinations, already notified, would be held.

Dr. Pradosh Kiran Nath, the registrar of AU, informed that a considerable number of students as well as employees of the University had reportedly tested positive. To curb the further spread of the virus, the AU authorities had decided to go for online mode.

According to the guidelines issued by the AU authorities, all classes for all courses and semesters would be held on online mode up to January 26. Reporting to University by teachers in offline mode would not be mandatory. However academic as well as administrative heads were expected to attend office physically. Though all the examinations to be held during this period stood postponed, sessional or internal unit tests might be held online. The AU has barred the entry of all the visitors without prior permission from statutory officers.
