Excise Intelligence Bureau on Thursday conducted a raid against influx of Arunachali liquor in Charaideo district.

GUWAHATI: Excise Intelligence Bureau on Thursday conducted a raid against influx of Arunachali liquor in Charaideo district. Acting on a source information personnel from Charaideo, Sapekhati, SivasagarSadar Excise circles under direction from Superintendent Excise Sivasagar intercepted a truck bearing registration number AS01 LC 8788 carrying 900 cases of MC Dowell Celebration Rum 750 ML (Arunachali Liquor Made) was detained along with the vehicle driver 1 km ahead of SeponTiniali district.

The truck along with the vehicle driver was detained at Moranhat PS and will be court produced at CJM court of Sonari. The vehicle carried illegal Arunachal Pradesh consignment has been detained by GolaghatSadar party. The revenue collection for the month of October is reported to be around Rs 215 crore which is recorded to be the highest till date.

As per Government data, previous year in the month of October was Rs 123 crore. Secondly overall collection for this year at 970 crore compared to 924 crore in last financial year till October. It is to be noted that since 2016, under the direction of Excise Minister ParimalSuklabaidya, Government of Assam, the department has been carrying out various operations against devils, resulting in seizure of illegal factories, godowns and huge amount of illegal Arunachali made liquors in the State, stated a press release.
