Exemplary punishment demanded for HSLC question paper leak masterminds

Reaction over the ongoing HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) exam question paper leak scam continues in the Lakhimpur district.

LAKHIMPUR: Reaction over the ongoing HSLC (High School Leaving Certificate) exam question paper leak scam continues in the Lakhimpur district. The people of the district have unanimously condemned the alleged masterminds involved in the scam. It has been observed that the people of the district have taken to social media platforms to condemned them after their arrest.

The Assam Police identified Pranab Dutta, Prasanna Das and Kumud Rajkhowa of Lakhimpur as the masterminds of the scam. All three have been arrested. The people of Lakhimpur have condemned the masterminds for spoiling the good name of Lakhimpur with their despicable misdeeds, for pushing more than 4 lakh students of the State to an unexpected situation and for their moral deterioration even after being involved in a sacred profession like teaching. The people of the district, along with the rest of the State, have demanded the government to ensure award of exemplary punishment.

On the other hand, the local public of Lohit Khabaloo area, Lohit Khabaloo High School Management and Development Committee and other frontal organizations of the area held a public meeting in the school premises on Saturday in connection with the HSLC question paper leak scam. Holding detailed discussion over the issue, the gathering condemned the three culprits unanimously. Then the meeting took a resolution to extend all cooperation for smooth conduct of the exams (scheduled and re-scheduled) of the remaining subjects.

Notably, Lohit Khabaloo Gaon Panchayat, which was once a part of Lakhimpur district, has already been attached with the Majuli district. Now the Gaon Panchayat is a part of Majuli district. Though the Gaon Panchayat has been attached with the island district, the administrative activities of various departments are still under Majuli district administration. The meeting demanded the Government of Assam to bring the educational activities of Lohit Khabaloo under Majuli district administration.
