BAKSA: Kangkan Das, a 26-year-old resident of Kalakuchi village in Tamulpur subdivision in the district of Baksa, has been battling for his life due to a complex illness.

The well-educated youth has been undergoing treatment at Dispur Hospital in Guwahati for the past 34 days after suffering from a range of complex diseases in addition to Haemophilia B, sepsis, chronic anemia and kidney injury disease.

In view of the pandemic, he was advised by doctors to come home from the hospital on Tuesday, but the poor family has not been able to bring the youth from the hospital as they have not been able to pay the hospital bill which is more than Rs 7 lakh.

The youths of Kalakuchi village have collected a very negligible amount of money by going from door-to-door. BTC chief Pramod Boro and Tamulpur's newly-elected MLA Leho Ram Boro have already given financial assistance to the youth for his treatment. One of his relatives said, "We have informed and contacted Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary about Kangkan's condition."

Villagers and his family members are hoping to bring the youth back home with the help of State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary, BTC chief Pramod Boro and newly-elected MLA Leho Ram Boro. The family members have also urged the public to help them out.
