JAMUGURIHAT: Dhwajen Basumatary, a retired assistant teacher of Bhelowguri MV School located on the southern part of Sootea, was accorded a public farewell on Friday.
Basumatary, an assistant of the school who had served for a long time, was superannuated from his service in April this year. Today, a public farewell meeting was convened by the school authority in collaboration with the local people and various organizations in the school premises. The farewell meeting was held with Arakhit Tanti, president of the school management committee in the chair. He was felicitated with a citation, gamosa, cheleng sador, a packet of books etc.
