TINSUKIA: As part of celebration of the 33rd Tinsukia District Foundation Day on October 1, the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Tinsukia organized a farmers' training programme titled 'Livestock based integrated Farming system and Farmers-Scientist interaction'. The event started with a welcome address by Gayatri Deori Bhuyan, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, Tinsukia, Sarfraz Haque, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia also addressed the gathering and enlightened the participants about the significance of the District Day.
He also encouraged them to take keen interest in the training programme, which will help them for their economic uplift. Dr.Ravi Shankar Choudhury, Block Veterinary Officer of Hapjan Block acted as a resource person and delivered some important insights on scientific cultivation of livestock based Integrated Farming system. Dr.Gautami Dutta, Programme Assistant also delivered lecture on different modules of Integrated farming system based on livestock. A very lively and potent interaction between the farmers and scientist present took place and made the event more fruitful. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Kripal Borah, SMS Soil Science.
