GUWAHATI: In yet another crime news in Assam's Jorhat district, a 23-year-old kid was reportedly slain by his father and stepmother.

According to reports, Kakumoni Bora, the victim, was allegedly beaten to death by his father at their home in Jorhat district's Teok town.

On October 31, Kakumoni Bora's father allegedly murdered him by beating him on the head numerous times for requesting Diwali costs. Following the murder of his kid, the father and the boy's stepmother dumped Kakumoni's body in an abandoned toilet on their property.

Kakumoni Bora's semi-decomposed body was discovered by authorities after he had been reported missing for many days. Police arrested Kakumoni's father and stepmother, Phanidhar Bora and Horumoni Dutta, respectively, when the corpse was discovered.

On Tuesday, the accused couple appeared in front of the Jorhat district and sessions court, where the father allegedly admitted to the crime. While the father is accused of killing his kid by repeatedly striking him in the head with a bamboo stick, the stepmother reportedly assisted the father in disposing of the body.

In another such similar case in Assam's Cachar district, a 34-year-old man is accused of beating his elderly mother to death. The crime occurred on a Sunday night, and the accused was apprehended when his father filed a police report.

Amarjit Deb, the accused, is a resident of Gosaipur part V in the Cachar district's Udharbond assembly seat. At approximately 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Amarjit took his mother Sumati Deb from her room and beat her with bamboo sticks, according to his father, Apurba Kumar Deb. After a few hours, she passed away.
