Fawn rescued by two activists of Green Valley Wild Life Protection Society in Tangla

TANGLA: A baby hog deer weighing about 6 kg was rescued by Mithu Sarkar and Ankit Tanti, two activists of Green Valley Wild Life Protection Society, an NGO of Orangajuli Tea Estate area, on Tuesday. They handed it over to the Udalguri forest department in a healthy condition. While talking to this correspondent, Mithu Sarkar said that the NGO had been instrumental in rescuing fawns, wild elephants and tiger cubs. The rescued fawn is believed to have ventured out of the neighbouring Khalingduar Reserve Forest.
