DEMOW: Demow Press Club organized a felicitation programme in Demow Jyoti Bishnu Cultural Building on Sunday where the meritorious students were felicitated. For the last 30 years the Demow Press Club has been organizing the felicitation programme in Demow. The programme started with Borgeet sung by singer Geetashree Kalita.
Umesh Chetia, president of Demow Press Club presided over the programme. Ajay Kumar Gogoi, chief adviser of Demow Press Club gave the welcome speech. Prastuti Dutta, a resident of Demow and Assistant Faculty of English Department in Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva Viswavidyalaya Guwahati anchored the programme.
The members of Demow Press Club felicitated Aditya Vickram Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar District with a Phulam Gamosa, Cheleng Chadar and a Japi. Aditya Vickram Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Sivasagar District in his speech urged the parents to motivate their Children. In memory of Late Gajen Chandra Gogoi and Late Numali Gogoi their son Ajay Kumar Gogoi, Chief Adviser of Demow Press Club paid a cash of Rs.5000 each to Trijyotshna Saikia of Demow Senior Secondary School (Demow Junior College) who secured 95.07 percentage in HSLC Examination 2023 and Akash Deep Borgohain of Demow Science Academy who secured 91.8 percentage in HS Final Examination 2023.
