Financial aid to cancer patients provided in Mangaldai

MANGALDAI: On the eve of the festivity of Rongali Bihu, bringing a smile of joy on the faces of 27 cancer patients in different areas under Mangaldai LAC, Mangaldai legislator Basanta Das has taken the praiseworthy initiative to sanction financial aid from the CM’s Relief Fund. All the needy patients belonging to the financially backward section have been offered a cheque amounting to Rs 10,000 each.

In a small function organized in the conference hall of the DC’s office on Thursday, legislator Basanta Das and Additional Deputy Commissioner Pallabi Kachari offered the cheques to the patients. In his speech, legislator Das requested all the patients to avail the treatment and the facilities provided by the Cancer Care Centre at Mangaldai. Earlier in the function, also attended by journalist Bhargab Kumar Das, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pallabi Kachari in her welcome speech highlighted the welfare schemes for the cancer patients.
