Financial assistance to underprivileged students in Tinsukia

‘Vidya Daan’, a Tinsukia-based NGO to help underprivileged and deprived students

DOOMDOOMA: 'Vidya Daan', a Tinsukia-based NGO to help underprivileged and deprived students, in association with the Tinsukia District Committee of Journalists' Union of Assam (JUA) distributed financial aids to seven underprivileged meritorious students of greater Rupaisiding area at the office premises of ATCO Tea Factory situated at Lachit Nagar, Rupai Siding, near here, on Friday afternoon.

The meeting held on this occasion was moderated by the advisor of the Tinsukia District Committee of JUA, Manoranjan Moran and was attended by the Director of 'Vidya Daan' Satish Khaitan , the Assistant Commandent of the 68th Bn. of CRPF Kumar Sidhharth, president of Doomdooma Chambers of Commerce Kishanlal Pareek, the Joint Secretary of AJYCP Surajit Moran, the general secretary of Doomdooma Unit of AASU Pratim Neog, advisor of the Tinsukia District Committee of JUA Roshan Lal Bharadwaj as guests. In the meeting cash amounts were distributed among the students.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director of 'Vidya Daan' said that the NGO would continue to help the underprivileged and deprived students of the district in order to pursue their studies in future also. He also told that in the current year the NGO had provided financial aids to altogether 37 such students.
