Firearms to be deposited in police station: Additional Deputy Magistrate Cachar

Person who has in his possession more than two licensed firearms should deposit one firearm to the nearest police station keeping two licensed firearms at his possession.

SILCHAR: Person who has in his possession more than two licensed firearms should deposit one firearm to the nearest police station keeping two licensed firearms at his possession. In pursuance a letter issued from Ministry of Home affairs, Government of India, received from the Deputy secretary to Government of Assam, Home & political Department, Dispur, Additional Deputy Magistrate Cachar, issued a letter in to this effect on Tuesday, which stated that the person concerned can deposit his firearm to licensed firearms dealer also.

It further stated that the person who is a member of armed forces of the union should deposit his firearm in an armoury unit referred in the sub section interns of arms amendment act 2019, sub section 2 of the principle act,arms act ,1959 and submit the licence along with particular of licensee and confirmation regarding deposit of arm to the office of Additional District Magistrate , Cachar, Silchar latest by December 6 so that a compiled report can be sent to the government within December 13, stated a press release.
