Fish training programme held at Guijan near Tinsukia

Aimed at refining skills on preparation of value added fish products and also to ensure the quality and consistency of the fish product

TINSUKIA: Aimed at refining skills on preparation of value added fish products and also to ensure the quality and consistency of the fish product, a 2-day advanced training programme was held on Sunday at the newly installed facility at Guijan near Tinsukia. Supported by ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai under its NEH component, the training programme was attended by 11 women master trainees out of 100 local indigenous participants who had undergone training during 1st phase of launching in October 2021.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr B B Nayak, Principal Scientist & Head of Fisheries Resources Harvest & Post-harvest Management CIFE. Dr Nayak in his motivational address spoke about the generation of income through innovative ways and the long term sustainability of the scheme. The training module envisaged practical training and hygienic handling for maintaining quality and storage stability of fish and fish products.
