Five child laborers rescued from hotels in Demow

DEMOW: A team of the Labour Department of Sivasagar district, with the help of Demow Police, conducted a search operation in the hotels of Rajmai near Demow under Demow Police Station on Friday and rescued five child laborers from the hotels.

According to sources, on Friday a team led by Mousumi Borah, Officer, Labour Department of Sivasagar district, Abhinandan Borthakur, Labour Officer and Naba Narayan Taye, member of Sivasagar Sishu Kalyan Committee, with the help of Demow Police, rescued a child labour from Jaan Hotel in Rajmai Chariali, one from Ram Kumar Agrawalla Hotel, another from Tutu Hotel and two child laborers from Prasanti Hotel.

The rescued children were brought to Demow Police Station. The Labour Department team lodged an FIR in Demow Police Station against the owners of the hotels for violating child labour laws.
