BARPETA: A five-year old child drowned in a pond on Saturday at Patbausi, Barpeta.
Bhargab Das, son of Pitambar Das of Patbausi, got up in an e-rickshaw that was parked on the road. The driver was not there. As soon as the boy got up in the e-rickshaw, it fell into a pond by the side of the road. The locals tried to save the boy but failed. His body was recovered from the pond later.
