MANGALDAI: The District Development Co-ordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting, that was pending for quite some time owing to the pandemic situation, was finally held on Tuesday at the conference hall of the office of Darrang Deputy Commissioner presided over by Mangaldai Parliamentarian Dilip Saikia. The meeting witnessed the participation of heads of all the departments which have either flagship programmes to implement or take part in developmental activities, among others.
Parliamentarian Dilip Saikia stated that rather than having a quantitative analysis of developmental activities in the district, the meeting was aimed at having a qualitative analysis of the same, and finding a solution to the underlying issues related to the schemes. MP Saikia appealed to all the departmental heads and senior officials of the district administration present to co-operate with one another, so that the fruits of the schemes were enjoyed by genuine beneficiaries. The Member of Parliament further appealed to the district administration and the officials of Zila Parishad to ensure that ineligible persons were not included as beneficiaries of schemes meant for certain sections of the society.
Saikia also urged the departmental heads to look after the schemes and their implementation with dedication and sincerity. The heads of departments present in the meeting presented various schemes and projects they are looking after and their progress report in the meeting. They also expressed their views on what could be done so that the same could be done in a more efficient way.
