DEMOW: Due to incessant rain since the past few days, the flood situation is grim in Thowra constituency. Due to increase in the water level of the Dehing, Desang and Deroi Demow gradually, flood has affected several villages of four mouzas in Thowra constituency. The agricultural lands and crops have submerged in flood water. The affected villages are Dehingmukh, Lachan Gaon, Bhekuri Sapori and Dehing Kal Ghar in Nitai mouza; Barpathar and Barbil in Panidehing mouza; Khamun, Konwar Gaon, Bhakhar Begena, Ikarani, Deroiting and Barbam in Bokota mouza; Desang Deroi, Naohalia, Habi Gaon, Mundasuk, Koiborta Dalani, Bokulduba, Majumalia, Demowmukh, Saragua, Kachari Bheti and Samarajan in Thowra mouza.

Under the leadership of Indica Gogoi, Demow Circle Officer, Bijit Panging, Field Officer of Disaster Management of Demow Revenue Circle, Jadumoni Borah, gaon burah of Thowra mouza and Junak Singh Rajput, gaon burah of Desang Deroi visited the affected villages in Thowra mouza. They interacted with the villagers and took stock of the situation.
