Tinsukia District Disaster Management Authority Holds Flood Preparedness Meeting

The Tinsukia District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) held a flood preparedness meeting at the DC’s conference hall on Wednesday in presence of two state nodal officers of Assam State Disaster Management Authority.

TINSUKIA: The Tinsukia District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) held a flood preparedness meeting at the DC’s conference hall on Wednesday in presence of two state nodal officers of Assam State Disaster Management Authority.

Ruby Gogoi, the project officer of DDMA, explained in details the flood-affected areas in the district last year, flood damage information and necessary plans prepared to cope with possible floods in the current season. The meeting was attended by Nava Deka, Engineering Consultant (Flood Mitigation) of ASDMA and Md. Sinan Bin Shafiq, Project Officer ASDMA, as nodal officers who also discussed in details the measures to be taken during the floods with the officers of the departments concerned present.

Dr Jayanta Bhattacharjee, Joint Director Health, gave a power-point presentation on the plans initiated by the health department to cope up emergency flood situations. The meeting was attended by Sonatrishna Gharpholia, assistant commissioner, Circle Officers of all revenue circle of the district, heads of various departments like Education, Electricity, Public Health Engineering, Water Resources, Irrigation, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary etc.
