SIVASAGAR: The meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority was held at the Sukafa Conference Hall the Deputy Commissioner’s office under the chairmanship of Sivasagar Deputy Commissioner Aditya Vikram Yadav on Tuesday. The meeting approved the proposals for the extent of damage caused by disasters like storms, rains, hails, fire, etc to various persons and institutions under the different revenue circles of Sivasagar district in the recent past.
Private houses, educational institutions, Assam Power Distribution Company Limited etc. have suffered damage due to various natural calamities in the past. The meeting also took a detailed review of flood preparedness and mitigation efforts of various departments to ensure the relief and rescue in case of emergencies. The Deputy Commissioner also directed the concerned departments to take immediate action to prevent illegal earth excavation.
The meeting was also attended by Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Aswini Doley, President of Zila Parishad Dhrubajyoti Mout, Additional Deputy Commissioner Karmadev Brahma, Nazira Subdivisional Officer Ayushi Jain and heads of various departments.
