Former AASU leader Monimoy Goswami passes away in Mangaldai

Former Assistant General Secretary of the Central Committee of AASU and former President of undivided All Darrang District Students’ Union Monimoy Goswami breathed his last

MANGALDAI: Former Assistant General Secretary of the Central Committee of AASU and former President of undivided All Darrang District Students' Union Monimoy Goswami breathed his last at a very young age of 45 on Sunday evening at his residence at Upahupara of Mangaldai town. He was suffering from prolonged illness. On receipt of the news of his demise, a large number of AASU activists including Khanindra Rajbongshi and Parag Saharia rushed to his residence.

On Monday afternoon after the performance of the post mortem examination at Mangaldai Civil Hospital, AASU activists and well wishers took his body in a procession to the AASU office here and bade a tearful adieu to their departed colleague. His mortal remains were consigned in to flames as per the traditional vedic rituals in presence of a large number of grief stricken colleagues, well wishers and family members. Former legislator Guru Jyoti Das and legislator Basanta Das have also deeply condoled his untimely demise. Late Monimoy Goswami has left behind his mother retired Principal of Mangaldai College Bandana Goswami, his wife Principal of Golaghat Law College Bhumika Goswami and a sister.
