GAURISAGAR: Noted Assam Agitation activist, former AASU, AGP leader, president of Amguri Chambers of Commerce in Sivasagar district Robin Gogoi passed away on Saturday morning at Guwahati Medical College and Hospital at about 10.28 a.m. He was 64. Born in Beltol Japisajia village in Amguri under Moriani LAC, he did his schooling in Amguri.
Robin Gogoi was a popular leader and occupied a place in the heart of many people for his amicable behaviour. He was the president of AASU Amguri Regional Committee for two times. He was a veteran AGP leader and led the party from grassroot level. For his organization skills he earned a good reputation. As a man of artistic mind he decorated Shraddhanjali Bedi, stage, pandals of various party meeting with traditional attire which enthralled the people. His sudden demised has sent waves of shock in entire Amguri and its adjacent areas. Amguri MLA Prodip Hazarika, Sudarsan Hazarika, general secretary of Asom Yuva Parishad , Bipul Borkatoky and many other organizations have expressed their condolences to the family. He is survived by his wife, a daughter and a host of relatives.
