DOOMDOOMA: Along with the foundation day of Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX), ‘Raij Mel’(Community meeting) against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act was organized by Doomdooma Sakha Xahitya Xabha (DSXX) on Friday. President Arjun Baruah hoisted the flag in the morning which was followed by lighting of the lamp before the portrait of the first president of AXX, Xahitya Kandari Padma Nath Gohain Baruah and in sacred memories of other departed presidents of Xabha by Dharma Gogoi. In the ‘Raij Mel’ several speakers took part including Shivajit Dutta, Associate Professor, Doomdooma College. In their speech, they vehemently opposed C(A)A which has posed a threat to the very survival of Assamese nationality and language. Another noted feature was a speech by Uddipta Deka who is a research student of the International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Bengaluru. The whole program was anchored by Deben Deka, Secretary, DSXX.
