Foundation of new hospital building laid at Rangamati Mini Primary Health Centre

MANGALDAI : In an effort to take the modern health care service to the people particularly pregnant women and new born babies living in the remote riverine Sar areas of greater Rangamati area of Mangaldai, the construction work of the multipurpose new hospital building has begun at Rangamati Mini Primary Health Centre (MPHC).

Mangalddi Parliamentarian Dilip Saikia on Monday laid the foundation of the building to be constructed at an estimated cost of more than rupees 1,42,50,000.00 under National Health Mission (NHM). Addressing the foundation laying function Parliamentarian Saikia urged upon the local people to remain vigil over the quality of work and also ensure timely completion of the work so that the people of the region avail the service of government health schemes without delay. He also hoped that with the completion of the work, the long pending demand of the large section of population of locality mostly living in these vast rural area would be fulfilled. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health) Gopal Krishna Sarma, Joint Director of Health Services Dr Nirmal Kumar Beria, Sub Divisional Medical and Health Officer of Jaljali Dr Jonali Choudhury, Chairman of Mangaldai Development Authority Pratap Bordoloi, media person Mayukh Goswami and village elders were also present in the function.
