Foundation stone of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana urban houses laid

JAGIROAD: Urban Development Department (UDD) Minister, Government of Assam, Pijush Hazarika on Wednesday formally laid the foundation stone of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) urban houses under Jagiroad Development Authority.

The minister was accompanied by Morigaon MLA and Fishfed chairman Ramakanta Dewri, Principal Secretary, UDD, Niraj Verma, and State Mission Director (MD) Subhasish Das. In this connection, a meeting was held at the PWD inspection bungalow. The minister, while addressing the meeting, said that total 25,000 beneficiaries all over the State would get PMAY houses while at Jagiroad under Jagiroad Development Authority, 306 beneficiaries received the first instalment of Rs 80,000 each and remaining Rs.1,20,000 each would be credited to their accounts phase-wise.

The minister also explained about some development activities implemented at Jagiroad like construction of drains, roads and street lights. He also spoke about some sanctioned schemes in Jagiroad like development of water front at Tarangapar for Rs.9.58 crore, construction of multi-utility building at Jagiroad for Rs.1.99 crore, construction of multi-purpose auditorium at Jagiroad Stadium for Rs.4.30 crore and construction of an ultra-modern Inspection Bungalow for Rs.6 crore.
