NAGAON: During a raid conducted on a specific input at a rented house near Katimari Grant on the outskirts of the small town by a police team from Haiborgaon TOP led by Additional Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Dhruba Bora arrested four fake gold fraudsters hailing from Lakhimpur as well as Nagaon district and also recovered two pieces of fake gold, 3 mobile phones and cash of Rs 9,700 from their possessions.
Sources claimed that the arrested fraudsters identified as Nurul Amin of Nawboisa, Nurul Haque Chowdhury of Bangalmara, Hiteswar Bora of Dhalpur in Lakhimpur district and Mazharul Islam of Panbari of Dhing in Nagaon district were involved in trading of fake gold for long and cheated people across the state through some small groups. Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation is on.
