HAILAKANDI: With entire members of many families kept under home quarantine in view of COVID-19 suspicion, the Hailakandi district administration have started door delivery of essential commodities. Hundreds of incoming people sent from facility quarantine centres to home quarantine across the district are getting food commodities at their doorstep. Around 516 families have already started receiving essential commodities at their doorstep. The administration has urged the home quarantined people not to step out as essential commodities would be delivered at their doorstep. The authorities are providing door-to-door delivery of commodities such as rice, dal, oil, salt, potato, onion, milk, eggs, vegetables and other essentials.
Food items amounting to Rs.2,000 to each family unit consisting of four members under home quarantine are being given covering a period of seven to ten days. "As per the standing instruction of the state government, dry ration and other items are being provided to the home quarantined people by the administration," said Deputy Commissioner, Megh Nidhi Dahal, adding that every care is being taken so that they do not face any sort of difficulty. Seeking the cooperation of those under home quarantine, Dahal asked them to contact control room number 03844-223377 and toll free No.1077 in the event they encountered any problem. With stranded people returning in droves from outside the state, door delivery of food items to quarantined persons is expected to increase in the coming days. Apart from this, the administration is also arranging essentials for the people living within the four containment zones.
