Free surgery for leprosy patients organized by AIFO

A free surgery camp for leprosy patients was organized by AIFO, a reputed non-governmental organization based in Bangalore

BISWANATH CHARIALI: A free surgery camp for leprosy patients was organized by AIFO, a reputed non-governmental organization based in Bangalore, in association with Bargang Catholic Hospital, Biswanath district from March 8 to March 10.

In the camp, patients from 11 districts of the State, including Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Goalpara, Jorhat, Nalbari, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Sonitpur, Nagaon and Darrang took part and they were provided free medical treatment. Dr. Jerry Jotsna, Senior Leprosy Specialist, Dr MV Josh, Dr Manimuhi, Dr Bada, Dr Bibek and Dr Jonali carried out the surgeries. Father Peter, Associate Director of the Catholic Hospital, told reporters that the non-governmental organization AIFO was doing a great job in providing free surgical services to all leprosy patients in collaboration with the Central and State governments.
