Fund-raising programme for CM's COVID-19 Relief Fund organized in Goalpara

GOALPARA: The Goalpara district committee of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and District Development Authority (DDA), in joint collaboration with the district administration, organized a fund-raising programme for the Chief Minister's COVID-19 Relief Fund in Goalpara on Tuesday.

Held at the DC's conference hall, the programme was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Meenakshi Das Nath, and attended voluntarily by several civic organizations and government contractors. Among them, the PWD Roads, PHE contractors, Chambers of Commerce, besides individual contributors, were prominent.

An amount of Rs 2.68 lakh was collected in the programme. "The function was arranged within a very short time. Thus, we failed to give wide publicity. But this is just the beginning, we are expecting huge response from the generous people of the district in the coming days," said Dipak Kumar Nath, chairman of DDA.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner thanked the contributors and expressed hope that her office would receive full cooperation from the people of Goalpara in taking the district towards all-round development.
