G 20 Summit: Y-20 events continue at Biswanath College

As per the directives from the Assam government on the occasion of upcoming G 20 Summit to be hosted by India, Biswanath College continues to shoulder the responsibility as a nodal institution.

BISWANATH CHARIALI: As per the directives from the Assam government on the occasion of upcoming G 20 Summit to be hosted by India, Biswanath College continues to shoulder the responsibility as a nodal institution. Two important events were organized here on Monday. In the morning, the college in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Biswanath College Sports Club organized a district level marathon race from Biswanath ghat to the Biswanath College campus. Approximately 50 students participated in the event.

Following the marathon, a seminar was also conducted on the topic of 'Sports for Health and well being'. The session was addressed by Rajkumar Raju Singh, Assistant Director, Department of Physical Education, Tezpur University as keynote speaker. He, in his speech, emphasized on the role of sports in improving mental, physical and social well being of the people. Dr. Nipam Kumar Saikia too addressed the gathering as resource person.

The session was compered by Dr N Thakur, Co-ordinator of IQAC, Biswanath College. Both the events witnessed the overwhelming response from the teaching fraternity, office bearers of BCSU and students of Biswanath college, Biswanath Commerce College and Chaiduar College.
