Gang of dacoits looted cash in Nagaon

NAGAON: A well-equipped gang of dacoits on Monday night entered a roadside dhaba near Dakorghat on Nagaon four lines bypass road and looted cash from the establishment under the Borghat patrolling outpost. The gang of dacoits had beaten up the proprietor as well as other employees of the dhaba and also vandalized the furniture of the dhaba too. The gang later fled safely with the cash from the scene.

The proprietor of the dhaba immediately informed about the incident to Borghat patrolling outpost police. But the police of the patrolling outpost allegedly rushed to the spot several hours later.

Meanwhile local Borghat patrolling outpost police registered a case in this regard and started investigation into the entire episode.

It is alleged in several quarters that cases of drugs trafficking, dacoity as well as other forms of criminal activities have been increasing across the district in the last couple of months due to inactivity as well as negligence of police officials of various police stations and outposts of the district.
