Gargaon College bags second-best team award at Youth Fest

In what can be termed as a remarkable feat, Gargaon College brought glory by clinching the second best team award for the second time in a row at the conclusion of the Inter-College Youth Festival

SIVASAGAR: In what can be termed as a remarkable feat, Gargaon College brought glory by clinching the second best team award for the second time in a row at the conclusion of the Inter-College Youth Festival of Dibrugarh University 2020-21 held at DKD College, Dergaon from April 3 to April 6.

Battling tough competition, the Gargaon College team was able to gather a total of 17 prizes in different categories. Ananya Gogoi, a student of the sixth semester of the college, stole the limelight by bagging a total of 9 prizes in Jyoti Sangeet, Rabha Sangeet, Jayanta Sangeet,

Modern Song, Ghazal, Parvati Prasad Geet, Bhajan and Folk Song (solo) competition and went on to win the much coveted Best Singer award. Likewise, Annaprasanna Kashyap won the first prize in dhol, Tribenee Baruah bagged the second and the third prize in clay modeling and installation event respectively, Subhrajyoti Gogoi bagged the third prize in Spot Photography event. The college team also bagged the first prize in folk song (group) and chorus competition respectively and the third prize in the drama event.

In a warm reception to the team returning from the youth festival, Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, Principal of Gargaon College, said that it was a moment of pride for the college fraternity and congratulated the team for their outstanding performance. He appreciated the hard work, perseverance and united effort of the team and expressed gratitude towards the teachers-in-charge and members of the students' union.
