Gargaon College, Dibrugarh University ink MoU

SIVASAGAR: As part of its endeavour to facilitate advancement of knowledge through academic cooperation, the Department of Statistics, Gargaon College entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Statistics, Dibrugarh University (DU) on August 5.

The objective of this MoU is to foster academic collaboration and exchange of educational resources between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest. The MoU was signed by Dr Manash Pratim Barman, Head of the department of Statistics, Dibrugarh University, and Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, eminent academician and Principal, Gargaon College. Dr Ranjana Gogoi, Head of the department of Statistics, Gargaon College, Dr Bornali Dutta, Assistant Professor of Statistics, Biman Ch Baruah, President of Governing Body, Gargaon College as well as the founder professor of Statistics and Dr Surajit Saikia, coordinator of IQAC of the college were also present on the occasion.

As a part of the MoU, a motivational lecture was organized by the Department of Statistics, Gargaon College in collaboration with the Department of Statistics, Dibrugarh University on the same day. On this occasion, Prof Sarat Ch Kakoty of the Department of Statistics, Dibrugarh University delivered a motivational lecture on National Education Policy, 2020. In his address, Prof Kakoty highlighted the importance of NEP and its future scope.

Dr Manash Pratim Barman, Head of the department of Statistics, Dibrugarh University, in his talk spoke of the importance of the subject Statistics and its prospects for students. The programme attended by the faculty members and students of the department of Statistics, concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr Ranjana Gogoi, Head of the department of Statistics.
