Gargaon College organized awareness programme on Intellectual Property Rights

SIVASAGAR: The Department of Commerce, Gargaon College, in collaboration with the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademark, Kolkata organized an online webinar on the awareness on Intellectual Property Rights recently.

The objective of the programme is to inculcate the spirit of creativity and innovation among the students and to inspire them to innovate and protect their creations. The programme aimed at creating public awareness about the economic, social and cultural benefits of IPR's among all sections of the society.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Sabyasachi Mahanta, Principal of Gargaon College. In his inaugural address, Dr Mahanta highlighted the significance of the programme with reference to the protection of original ideas and innovation and also elaborated how this programme could be beneficial to the academic fraternity. The programme was enriched by the presence of resource person Dr Abhishek Sachan who shared his valuable inputs and also clarified the doubts raised by the participants.

A good number of students, academicians and teachers from different institutions participated in the webinar. The webinar was moderated by Assistant Professor Anil Tanti and Gautom Hazarika.
